The town is on the intersection of the A66, A6, and A686 roads. M6, passing through the town, links it to Carlisle to the north and to Manchester and Birmingham to the far south.

By train
Penrith railway station on the main Virgin trainline from London to Glasgow. Penrith is well supplied with good b&bs, self-catering and hotels for those staying for courses or a course of treatment. For leisure time, it is only 20 minutes away from Keswick and the heart of the Lake District and stands on the edge of the picturesque Eden valley.
